Who we are
This policy covers the Barraxworld website and the apps and games we publish. The publisher and data controller is Burotec Limited, 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. Contact us at support@barraxworld.co.uk for anything about your data.
This is one policy for all our apps. Where an app collects something different, we say so under that app’s heading. Pickleball Legends is described in detail below.
Pickleball Legends: what we collect
You don’t need to create an account or give us your name or email address to play. The game creates an anonymous player record for your device. It uses:
- A random player identifier that the game generates and stores on your device. It is not linked to your name, email or device hardware. Reinstalling the game gives you a new identifier, unless you restore the app from a device backup, which brings the old one back.
- Game data: your display name, experience points, level and leaderboard scores. Leaderboards show your display name and score to other players, so please don’t put personal information in your display name.
- Technical data: your device’s region setting, platform, app version and the channel you installed from. Our server also records the IP address of your most recent connection.
- Analytics about how the game is played (see below).
The game does not collect an advertising identifier. Game settings are stored on your device, and notifications are created locally on it. If you send us a support email from the game, it includes your player identifier and device details so we can help you. If you share something from the game, the app you share to handles it under its own policy.
Pickleball Legends: analytics and tracking
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played and to improve it. It records events such as starting a match, results, character choices, progression, and use of sharing or reminder features. Firebase can process an app-instance identifier and device and app information. See Firebase’s privacy information.
The game may show Apple’s tracking permission prompt. We do not currently track you across other companies’ apps and websites and the game contains no advertising SDKs, so your answer doesn’t change how the game works. Firebase analytics runs whatever you answer. It records an anonymous app-instance identifier and gameplay events. We do not connect it to your player identifier, and we do not use it to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
The website
Analytics. If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics to measure visits and improve the site. It uses cookies and processes information about the pages you visit and your browser and device. Advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google signals are switched off. Nothing from Google loads before you choose, or if you reject. You can change your choice any time with Cookie settings in the footer. We remember it in your browser for 180 days. Withdrawing consent stops future tracking and clears the Google Analytics cookies we can reach, but does not erase data already collected. Analytics does not run on the feedback or support pages. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Feedback form. The form sends your answers, comment and optional reply email address to our feedback mailbox. The website does not keep a separate copy. A session cookie supports form security. To limit spam we keep a keyed hash of your network address and the time of each attempt, separately from your feedback. These records contain no answers or email addresses and are discarded after 24 hours.
Email. If you email us, we receive your address, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to reply and to look into your issue. Please don’t send passwords or sensitive personal information.
Server logs. Our web and server hosting records connection information such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
Why we use your information
- To provide the game (player record, progress, leaderboards): we need this to deliver what you asked for.
- To support you and keep things secure (replying to messages, preventing abuse, fixing faults): our legitimate interest in running a safe, working service.
- To understand and improve our games and website (analytics): our legitimate interest for in-game analytics, and your consent for website analytics. You can withdraw consent for website analytics at any time.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who receives your information
We use service providers who process data for us, including Google (Firebase and Google Analytics, and Google Workspace for email), DigitalOcean (hosting for the game’s servers), our website hosting provider, and Apple for App Store distribution. They may only use your data to provide their service to us, except where they act as independent controllers under their own policies. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Player records (player identifier, display name, level, scores and your last IP address) are kept until you delete them or ask us to.
- Feedback and support emails are kept while we respond and follow up, then deleted when no longer needed.
- Website analytics are kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account. In-game analytics are kept for the period set in our Firebase project.
- Anti-spam records are discarded after 24 hours.
- Server logs (connection details such as IP address) are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
After deletion, copies in routine server backups are overwritten as the backups expire, within about a week. Leaderboard displays refresh shortly after deletion.
Deleting your data
In Pickleball Legends you can delete your data yourself. Open Settings, scroll to the bottom and choose “Delete my data”, then confirm. This is permanent and cannot be undone. It removes your player record (identifier, display name, level and experience, platform, app version, country, IP address and login dates), all your leaderboard scores and weekly history, and your entry in our cached leaderboards. It also erases the game’s saved data and reminders on your device and resets the game’s anonymous analytics identifier. If the game can’t reach our server, nothing is deleted and you can try again. After deletion, the next time you play you start as a brand-new player that isn’t linked to the old one.
If you can’t use the in-app option, you can email support@barraxworld.co.uk with the app name and, if you have it, your player ID. We may ask for enough information to confirm the request, but never your password. We will delete the records we control, including your player record and scores, tell you if we must keep anything and why, and confirm when it is done. We normally respond within one month.
What deletion doesn’t remove straight away:
- Server logs record IP addresses and device types for a short time before they rotate out, about two weeks. They don’t contain your player identifier, except in error logs when a request fails.
- Server backups are taken daily and kept for about a week, so a deleted player disappears from backups within that time.
- Firebase analytics holds anonymous usage events against its own app-instance identifier, which we never link to your player identifier or display name. Google deletes that data after the retention period set in our Firebase project.
Uninstalling an app does not by itself remove the records on our servers. Deleting your data does not cancel any store subscription or billing. Do that through your Apple account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your personal data, to object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Contact us using the address above. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data protection authority.
Children
Our games are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top. For significant changes we will tell you in the app or on the website.
